How These Numbers Are Calculated

Who Qualifies as a Registrant?

The eligible driver pool is far broader than CDL holders alone. Registrants include all commercial vehicle operators subject to DOT registration requirements:

  • Class A, B & C CDL holders (semi-trucks, tankers, buses)
  • Non-CDL box truck drivers (vehicles under 26,001 lbs GVWR operating commercially)
  • Hot shot drivers (gooseneck/flatbed pickups hauling DOT-registered loads)
  • Sprinter van / cargo van operators running under a DOT number
  • Last-mile and expedited freight drivers operating interstate

Any driver operating a DOT-registered commercial vehicle — regardless of CDL status — is part of the addressable market. This makes the opportunity significantly larger than CDL-only platforms.

Calculation Methodology

  1. State Population — sourced from 2023 U.S. Census Bureau estimates.
  2. Est. Current CDL Drivers — sourced directly from FMCSA registration statistics (CDL driver count per state). Falls back to population-based estimate if FMCSA data is unavailable.
  3. Graduated Platform Adoption — conversion rate starts at 2.0% in Year 1 (2026) and grows to 5.2% by Year 5 (2030), increasing ~0.8% per year: 2.0% → 2.8% → 3.6% → 4.4% → 5.2%.
  4. Year 1 Commission — $31.35/driver/year ($2.61/mo) — the licensee earns $31.35 for each driver enrolled in the first year (based on the $99 setup + $10/mo pricing structure).
  5. Year 2+ Commission — $18.00/driver/year ($1.50/mo) — the licensee earns $18.00 per enrolled driver for each renewal year thereafter.
  6. Compounding Driver Growth — the Revenue Estimator tool lets you input a starting driver count plus new drivers added each year. The total enrolled base compounds annually (e.g. 500 drivers + 100/yr = 500 yr1, 600 yr2, 700 yr3…).
  7. Annual Commission Value = (Total Accumulated Drivers for that year) × applicable annual rate ($31.35 yr 1, $18.00 yr 2+)
  8. 5-Year Total = Sum of annual commissions across all 5 years using the compounding driver base.
Why We Use All Drivers, Not Just CDL: While the CDL driver count reflects one segment of the commercial driving workforce, all drivers registered in the FMCSA database are eligible to be added to the CDL-Driver Verify™ platform — regardless of whether they hold a CDL. Our system can verify any driver's license on file and return a valid result; it may simply indicate a valid non-CDL license rather than a CDL. This is why our enrollment projections and financial estimates are based on the total FMCSA driver population — the full addressable market for the platform.
DISCLAIMER: All financial projections shown on this map are estimates for illustrative purposes only and do not constitute a guarantee of income or earnings. The 1.2% platform adoption rate is a market-sizing estimate and actual registration adoption will vary significantly by state, local market conditions, competition, licensee sales effort, and platform growth. The 5-Year Commission Projection assumes 100% penetration of the estimated registrant pool maintained for the full 60-month period, which represents a best-case scenario. Actual results may be materially lower. License costs, renewal fees, and commission structures are subject to change. The licensee earns 15% on the initial license purchase and additional recurring income by producing driver registrants on the platform. Prospective licensees should conduct their own due diligence before making any license purchase decision. CDL-Driver Verify™ makes no representations or warranties regarding the accuracy of these projections.
